Hosting for the new missionaries this past Monday was so fun. Me and my companion and other 2 sisters in my district were hosting for the senior single sisters. I knew that Elder and Sister Moses would be coming in that day so I told my whole district to look out for them so I could say hi to them. AND when I got back from helping a new sister, there they were! They had just gotten their bags out of the car and were on their way to the elevator to get to their room, and I saw them! Oh it was so nice to see a face I already knew. The tender mercies of the Lord are real!!
Elder Young was sitting in his usual corner seat next to the window and ac unit. We had just finished the uplifting spiritual conversion story telling of Elder Kalahiki-Anthony. Elder Young kept hearing a banging sound and was getting annoyed at his companion for hitting the ac unit, but his comp wasn't hitting the ac unit! He jumped out of his chair to see what was happening, and his chair leapt into the air! His seat was on a trap door and it started to open!!! mind you: he had previously tried to open this floor panel and had decided that it just doesn't open. So he was so excited! He was jumping up and going crazy and yelled, "IT'S THE MOLE PEOPLE!!" The people came out of the hole and walked out the room. Bahahahahahahahaha, we laughed so hard! We were laughing for at least 20 minutes. It was so funny! We had to tell everyone that the mole people came! Our teachers were rolling on the ground laughing when we told them. The teacher's boss came in and we had to tell her, she said it was the best MTC story she's ever heard!!!
That was a few days ago, and yesterday they came back again! we were actually prepared this time. We heard the knock and Elder Young yelled at the floor, "Hold on, we're moving the desk, then you can come up mole people!" We had to bust out laughing again! This time we had cameras ready to capture this momentous occasion. Elder Young got to go into the tunnel and was very happy.
**Note from mom: Erin never says who these people were or why they came up from the floor and where they went. She has one more week in the MTC, so we might not get a letter next Wednesday--we'll see . . .
The story about meeting the Moses' at the MTC was awesome. Elder Moses actually emailed us that first day to tell us how glad they were to see Erin. It was truly a tender mercy. Heavenly Father was showing some love for them all.
