I think you should know that several sisters in the Concord ward are
livid and quite ready to call Salt Lake City, and petition for us to
have our car back:) There were a few sisters up in arms about it when
they found out our car is being taken back. Haha. It just shows how much
love they have for us. They are also telling us all about the rapes and
murders happening around New Hampshire... so I don't really know why
they are telling us that, but it pretty much scared Sis. Robbins
spit-less. I'm not too worried 'cause Heavenly Father protects us quite
nicely. We'll be smart and have been given advice on the parts of town
not to walk in the dark. I'm pretty grateful that we have bikes! I love
biking. There were two bikes in our apartment so I've been helping Sis.
Robbins re-learn how to ride a bike. She's far from confident in her
abilities, but she's a pro already. No falls or anything so far. I just
have to figure out how to lower the seat on one of them... so I'm not
standing to peddle the entire time. This situation without a car gives
us so many great opportunities! we'll be able to contact people easier,
more frequently, and in different situations than before. We'll be able
to unify with the members more. Cause I'm pretty sure they will step up
and support us in our need for rides to and from appointments... so why
not stay and teach with us?! right? It'll be good.
Holly
was confirmed this past Sunday and her parents joined her for the
sacrament meeting. They are pretty standoff-ish but Holly is being a
great missionary and teaching them everything she can:) I have perfected
my ability to cook fish. Holly had us over for dinner. She's an
interesting cook, and Sis. Robbins has a hard time eating her cooking. Sis. Robbins also has a
hard time eating seafood. . . So when Holly wanted to cook us fish...
You can imagine how panic stricken Sis. Robbins was. haha. SOOOoooooo
When we got to her house she still hadn't fixed the food yet, so Sis.
Robbins volunteered me to cook the meal while she and Holly reviewed her
Family History in getting it ready for the temple. OH MAN. I had never
cooked haddock before. I had no idea what to do. BUT I have cooked
salmon, and have watched you(mom) cook it, so I seasoned it with the
good seasonings she had, and broiled it. It turned out alright. And Sis.
Robbins didn't completely die. :)
Jolie is another of our investigators, we taught her family about
the plan of salvation. She didn't seem too interested but her daughters,
wow, they latched right onto it. They were so happy to hear about it
and had tons of questions, they said the wanted to hear more and more.
We only got through the first half with them, they loved it!
Thursday in our district meeting we just had us and the Elders Lewis
and Irving. Elder Lewis was being a stinker and brought a tick to the
meeting. He found it on his leg, and was bringing it so we could all see
what it looks like and make sure to look out for them. Well, Sis.
Robbins is petrified of bugs... so it was pretty interesting when he
took it out and showed her. She flew backwards in her chair, several
feet back. AND then he started walking towards her with it and I told
him if he scares my companion I'd have to hurt him. So he backed off. She
was totally ready to run out of the room, she didn't care that she had
to stay with me at that point, haha she gets so scared! Poor Sis.
Robbins.
I got my hair done... like a weave... like lots of Africans have
their hair with the weaved in braids and such... COOL!!!! Okay, so it
wasn't all done, just a few braids... and I had to take them out that
night. But while they were doing both mine and Sis. Robbins hair in
their style we talked about Africa and how Josphin (a recent convert) is
going to take us to Africa and keep us safe and she'll make sure that
we have a good time:) we're planning this trip for the near future...
like a few years from now...
anyways.
