Interpreter

March 26, 2012

So two Sundays ago the Stake Relief Society president and Stake President and President Wilkey were all talking in the hall at our church building. Me and S. Bond were there as well off to the side talking with S. Wilkey. Their conversation was figuring out who knew sign language and who could do the interpreting for both the women's conference coming up and stake conference coming up. S. Bond was nice, kinda, and volunteered my services to do the interpreting. I am not an interpreter. S. Wilkey assured me that my new companion knows ASL very well and would help me out if I needed it. So it was decided right then that I was the interpreter for the Concord Stake, as a special assignment from my mission president. WOW, not like I needed any more pressure! haha.

This week we found Jolie, who is a relative of Samuel (Recently baptized). She is interested in learning about what we have to say about Jesus Christ.

Holly has a baptismal date for the end of April. She's really cute and loves the Gospel. She got up in sacrament yesterday to bear her testimony. She shared how much she loves Joseph Smith and how he is truly a man of God. We went to the Joseph Smith Memorial (JSM) with her this past Saturday. She really enjoyed it. We also had Michelle Fincher with us. Her story is interesting. She called the Concord church building Thursday afternoon looking for the missionaries, wanting to be baptized. The Canterbury Elders got her number and gave her a call back. Her information was then given to us because she was living on the streets of Concord, where we are:). We met her at the church building Thursday night, which also happened to be the night of the Relief Society dinner. So she got to know a lot of people, including Holly. Holly took Michelle in and provided some new clothes for her and everything. But Holly couldn't keep her. Holly has contacts and got Michelle into a home that's in Laconia. So we gave her the Laconia Elder's number. She called them and met them Saturday night, after going to the JSM with us. She accepted their invitation to be baptized:). Crazy story, right?!
