We are interpreting on Saturday for the Stake Women's Conference, that'll be interesting. Well this week went really really well for us here in the city of Concord. Tuesday we had training meeting for a long time...it was really good though! We are getting Holly prepared for her baptism we are teaching her about 3 times a week now until the 22nd.Thursday we went to Billy Ann's she is the one teaching us how to knit...so that's fun..I'm learning how to make a sock now!! :)
OH MAN FRIDAY! Such a great day! We are teaching Shawn and he is awesome! This was our third lesson with him and he is praying everyday to find out if the church is true. He said that we wouldn't be able to meet with him for about a month because he is a professor at a college and is going to be busy with the end of the school year and he is going to be in and out of town so....But the best part was he told us that he didn't want to lose contact with us, he asked for homework assignments and for us to call and check up on him! He promised to read and will call us when he has questions. We gave him 6 chapters in the Book of Mormon that deal with the Plan of Salvation.
We also taught Dora and Celine! We were teaching the restoration again to check for understanding because of the possible language barrier. Dora had been taught by the missionaries a couple of times so she knew a lot so that's cool. Toward the end of the lesson Dora's husband came home from work and joined us. So by the end of that lesson we had a new investigator (the husband Ayite) and 3 dates for baptism on May 20th! We told them we would have to meet a few times a week so that they can have all the lessons and be ready to be baptized! AWESOME! They all speak the same language so when someone doesn't understand they are able to talk about it together. They speak French, and Ewe (an african dialect). They're from Toco (I think that's how you spell it, it's in West Africa). But they understand English okay. So when we were thinking of a day to go back Celine said " I'M OFF WORK TOMORROW! COME AT 5!" haha!! So that was awesome I don't know if we are going to be able to meet with all three of them at the same time this week because Celine works everyday. They are really awesome! So on Saturday we went back to see them Ayite wasn't able to be there, but we taught the Plan of Salvation! Dora and Celine are super sweet and they are all so excited to be baptized! They were a referral from a recent convert, Josphin! She is so awesome!
Then for Easter we went to the Drysdale's and the Smith's home they all live together and we had dinner! It was good Ham, mashed potatoes, corn, asparagus, fruit, then for dessert we had carrot cake and ice cream they had strawberry rhubarb pie too. it was really nice! And the Drysdale's and Smith's gave us each an Easter basket! They are sweet! Brother Smith is our ward mission leader! They are awesome So this easter was interesting. The elders in our ward were there as well. And missionary frank (a 65 yearold man that is mentally disabled, he's convinced he's a catholic and a mormon. and he is President Monson's secretary...ahhahahaha, OH, and girls can't be missionaries, so we worked really hard to convince him we're the special few that God trusts to be missionaries... it took a while but he tolerates us now, haha) So it was a fun dinner. We were given easter buckets (and I mean buckets, or pails haha with a shovel on the side and everything), the elders got water guns and we sisters got lotion and hair supplies. I mentioned how my favorite scent was one of the lotion scents(sweet pea and lavender). And elder baker and elder iglinski were like "let me smell." So the lotion got passed around and everyone got to smell it if they liked, haha. Then the elders were like,"I love that smell, it smells soooo good" and me and sister robbins were like, "it smells like a girl." Then missionary frank said, "missionaries, stop chasing after the girls! you're supposed to be tellin people to get baptized!" It was sooooo funny. We all burst out laughing! He's such a fun old man:)
