I Love This Work!

Holy Moly. We had this lesson with the Welton family. I love them so much. I absolutely love them. They are a less-active family that isn't on our directory. They showed up at church one Sunday and we got their address. It was almost like no one else even noticed they were there. Well, that week we didn't think anything about it, until we didn't see them at church. So that night we rearranged our schedule and drove out to see them. All backwoods icy roads. We talked with them and really got to know them for a good hour! And invited them to come again to church. They didn't come again. So back up the icy backwoods roads to their home we went. This time we had more of a spiritual conversation and found out that the Brother Welton had stopped going to church at about age 16. and Sister Welton had previously been very active but since had been offended and slowly stopped going to church. So then we invited them again to church. They came!!! And at church we invited Brother Welton to come to the Gospel Principles class. Both Sister and Brother Welton were there in the class and stayed for the third hour as well. In Relief society Sister Welton leaned over to me and explained how she had never really been able to go to church since she married Brother Welton because he was just against the idea. She said how we were the first missionaries that he had let talk to him, because he felt like we really cared about him! AND he was okay with us coming over on a regular basis to teach their family. WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! So this past Monday was our first official visit. We taught the importance of the sacrament. The spirit was so strong! I shared an experience of using the sacrament to get rid of sins as a part of repenting. Brother Welton had tears in his eyes as he explained he's never thought of the sacrament like that and felt like he needed it. They are determined to get on the right path and head towards the Celestial Kingdom now. :) I love this work!
